50 C.F.R. § 29.101 — How will the Service conduct an initial review?

§ 29.101 How will the Service conduct an initial review? (a) Within 30 calendar days of receipt of your application, the Service will notify you in writing that one of the following situations exists: (1) Your application is complete, and the Service will begin formal review; (2) Your application does not meet the information requirements, in which case we will identify the additional information required to be submitted before the Service will be able to conduct formal review of your application; or (3) More time is necessary to complete the review, in which case the Service will provide the amount of additional time reasonably needed along with a justification. (b) If you submit additional information as requested under paragraph (a)(2) of this section, and the Service determines that you have met all applicable information requirements, the Service will notify you within 30 calendar days from receipt of the additional information that either: (1) Your application is complete, and the Service will begin formal review; or (2) More time is necessary to complete the initial review, in which case the Service will provide the amount of additional time reasonably needed along with a justification.
