§ 12.51 May I simply abandon my interest in the property? You may voluntarily abandon your interest in property to the United States by signing Service Form 3–2096, Fish and Wildlife Abandonment Form, or equivalent Federal, State, Tribal, or local form, or by signed letter to the Service or the Solicitor containing substantially the same information as Form 3–2096.
