§ 102–33.110 What are our responsibilities when acquiring aircraft parts? When acquiring aircraft parts, you must: (a) Acquire the parts cost-effectively and acquire only what you need; (b) Inspect and verify that all incoming parts are documented as safe for flight prior to installation; (c) Obtain all logbooks (if applicable) and maintenance records (for guidance on maintaining records for non-military parts, see Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular 43–9C, “Maintenance Records,” which is available from the FAA at http://www.faa.gov ); (d) Plan for adequate storage and protection; and (e) Refer to FAA Advisory Circular 21–29C, Change (2), “Detecting and Reporting Suspected Unapproved Parts” ( http://www.faa.gov ).
