28 C.F.R. § 2.205 — Confidentiality of supervised release records.

§ 2.205 Confidentiality of supervised release records. (a) Consistent with the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C 552a(b)), the contents of supervised release records shall be confidential and shall not be disclosed outside the Commission and CSOSA (or the U.S. Probation Office) except as provided in paragraphs (b) and (c) of this section. (b) Information pertaining to a releasee may be disclosed to the general public, without the consent of the releasee, as authorized by § 2.37. (c) Information other than as described in § 2.37 may be disclosed without the consent of the releasee only pursuant to the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a(b)) and the implementing rules of the Commission or CSOSA, as applicable.
