49 C.F.R. § 229.53 — Brake gauges.

§ 229.53 Brake gauges. All mechanical gauges and all devices providing indication of air pressure electronically that are used by the engineer to aid in the control or braking of the train or locomotive shall be located so that they may be conveniently read from the engineer's usual position during operation of the locomotive. A gauge or device shall not be more than five percent or three pounds per square inch in error, whichever is less. [66 FR 4192, Jan. 17, 2001]
