32 C.F.R. § 61.29 — Responsibilities.

§ 61.29 Responsibilities. (a) The Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)): (1) Sponsors FAP research and evaluation and participates in other federal research and evaluation projects relevant to the assessment, treatment, and risk management of domestic abuse. (2) Ensures that research is reviewed every 3 to 5 years and that relevant progress and findings are distributed to the Secretaries of the Military Departments using all available Web-based applications. (3) Assists the Secretaries of the Military Departments to: (i) Identify tools to assess risk of recurrence. (ii) Develop and use pre- and post-treatment measures of effectiveness. (iii) Promote training in the assessment, treatment, and risk management of domestic abuse. (b) The Secretaries of the Military Departments issue implementing guidance in accordance with this part. The guidance must provide for the clinical assessment, rehabilitative treatment, and ongoing monitoring and risk management of Service members and eligible beneficiaries reported to FAP for domestic abuse by means of an unrestricted report.
