§1675. Authorization of appropriations; criteria for eligibility of States for funds

There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this subchapter $30,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2002 through 2023. Generally, States shall be eligible for funds appropriated under this subchapter according to the respective capabilities of their private forests and rangelands for yielding renewable resources and relative needs for such resources identified in the periodic Renewable Resource Assessment provided for in section 1601 of this title and the periodic appraisal of land and water resources provided for in section 2004 of this title.

Codification Pub. L. 110–234 and Pub. L. 110–246 made identical amendments to this section. The amendments by Pub. L. 110–234 were repealed by section 4(a) of Pub. L. 110–246.

Amendments 2018—Pub. L. 115–334 substituted "2023" for "2018". 2014—Pub. L. 113–79 substituted "2018" for "2012". 2008—Pub. L. 110–246, §7413(a), substituted "2012" for "2007" in first sentence. 2002—Pub. L. 107–171 substituted "There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this subchapter $30,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2002 through 2007." for "There are authorized to be appropriated to implement this subchapter $15,000,000 for each of fiscal years 1987 through 2002." 1998—Pub. L. 105–185 substituted "each of fiscal years 1987 through 2002." for "the fiscal year ending September 30, 1988, and $15,000,000 for each of the next twelve fiscal years." 1988—Pub. L. 100–231 amended first sentence generally, substituting "1988" for "1979" and "twelve" for "nine".
