Federal Acquisition Regulations System 1 2023-10-01 2023-10-01 false Certified or cashiers checks, bank drafts, money orders, or currency. 28.204-2 Section 28.204-2 Federal Acquisition Regulations System FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION GENERAL CONTRACTING REQUIREMENTS BONDS AND INSURANCE Sureties and Other Security for Bonds 28.204–2 Certified or cashiers checks, bank drafts, money orders, or currency. Any person required to furnish a bond has an option to furnish a certified or cashier's check, bank draft, Post Office money order, or currency, in an amount equal to the penal sum of the bond, instead of furnishing surety or sureties on the bonds. Those furnishing checks, drafts, or money orders shall draw them to the order of the appropriate Federal agency. [48 FR 42286, Sept. 19, 1983. Redesignated at 54 FR 48986, Nov. 28, 1989]
