Establishing the Fabric.

§ 1.7007 Establishing the Fabric. (a) The Commission shall create the Fabric, a common dataset of all locations in the United States where fixed broadband internet access service can be installed. The Fabric shall: (1) Contain geocoded information for each location where fixed broadband internet access service can be installed; (2) Serve as the foundation upon which all data relating to the availability of fixed broadband internet access service collected pursuant to the Digital Opportunity Data Collection shall be overlaid; (3) Be compatible with commonly used Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software; and (4) Be updated every 6 months by the Commission. (b) The Commission shall prioritize implementing the Fabric for rural and insular areas of the United States. [85 FR 50907, Aug. 18, 2020]
