39 C.F.R. § 281.3 — Postal inspector responsibilities.
§ 281.3 Postal inspector responsibilities. The postal inspector investigating the incident should assure that the processing postal officials are fulfilling their notification responsibilities on a timely basis. Should the situation arise where no postal officials are involved in processing affected mail, then the investigating postal inspector will take necessary action to insure that appropriate notification is made.
