29 C.F.R. § 4.103 — The Act.

§ 4.103 The Act. The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act of 1965 (Pub. L. 89–286, 79 Stat. 1034, 41 U.S.C. 351 et seq. ), hereinafter referred to as the Act, was approved by the President on October 22, 1965 (1 Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents 428). It establishes standards for minimum compensation and safety and health protection of employees performing work for contractors and subcontractors on service contracts entered into with the Federal Government and the District of Columbia. It applies to contracts entered into pursuant to negotiations concluded or invitations for bids issued on or after January 20, 1966. It has been amended by Public Law 92–473, 86 Stat. 798; by Public Law 93–57, 87 Stat. 140; and by Public Law 94–489, 90 Stat. 2358.
