11 C.F.R. § 9012.3 — Unlawful use of payments received from the Fund.

§ 9012.3 Unlawful use of payments received from the Fund. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person who receives any payment under 11 CFR part 9005, or to whom any portion of any payment so received is transferred, knowingly and willfully to use, or authorize the use of, such payment or any portion thereof for any purpose other than— (1) To defray the qualified campaign expenses with respect to which such payment was made; or (2) To repay loans the proceeds of which were used, or otherwise to restore funds (other than contributions to defray qualified campaign expenses which were received and expended) which were used, to defray such qualified campaign expenses. (b) It shall be unlawful for the national committee of a major or minor party which receives any payment under 11 CFR part 9008 to use, or authorize the use of, such payment for any purpose other than a purpose authorized by 11 CFR 9008.6.
