10-3-4: BITING PROHIBITED:
The owner shall be liable for any animal which, when not physically provoked, physically attacks, wounds, bites or otherwise injures a person or another animal who is not trespassing. Violators of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, which shall be punished in accordance with section 1-4-1 of this code. For a second or subsequent violation of this section, the court may, in the interest of public safety, order the owner to have the animal destroyed or may direct the appropriate authorities to destroy the animal.
