4-5-11: REQUIRED PARKING AND LOADING SPACES:
A. Space Dimensions:
B. Number Of Spaces: Off street parking and loading spaces shall be provided as hereinafter set forth; provided, that a greater number of spaces may be required in any case where a special use permit is involved. Parking requirements for commercial lots within three hundred fifty (350) linear feet of the centerline of Hwy 44/Main Street between Dewey Avenue and Picadilly Avenue may be lessened by twenty percent (20%) to accommodate floodplain requirements and space limitations.
For each dwelling unit | 3 parking spaces. (1 parking space for a second dwelling) |
For each dwelling unit in a single family dwelling, attached | 2.5 parking spaces if not designated for a particular unit. 3 parking spaces if designated for a particular unit. (2 parking spaces for duplex or triplex) |
For each dwelling unit in a multi-family building | 3 parking spaces per particular unit. (2 parking spaces for 2 & 3 unit buildings) |
For each guest bedroom in a hotel, motel, club, lodging house, fraternity or sorority house | 1.5 parking spaces |
For each 4 beds in a convalescent, nursing or rest home, sanatorium or home for the care of children or the aged | 1 parking space, plus 1 parking space for each doctor assigned full time to staff, plus 1 parking space for each employee |
Hospital | 1 parking space for each 1,200 square feet of gross floor area, plus 1 parking space for each 2 regular employees |
Daycare without overnight facilities | 1 parking space for each 4 children, plus 1 parking space for each employee |
Church, auditorium, theater or sports arena | 1 parking space for each 3 seats in the principal assembly room or area |
For floor space used by a restaurant, recreational, amusement or other similar facility | 1 parking space for each 80 square feet of gross floor space, except for restaurants. For restaurants, 1 parking space for each 50 square feet of dining area (rounded up to the next whole number) and 1 space for each employee at work |
Business offices, not otherwise specified; medical or dental office or clinic; retail stores, banks and shops not otherwise specified | 1 parking space for each 300 square feet of gross floor area |
Retail sales establishments handling only durable goods or bulky merchandise such as machinery, furniture or vehicles, personal service and repair shops, wholesale stores | 1 parking space for each 720 square feet of gross floor area |
LOADING SPACES
Manufacturing businesses | 1 parking space for each employee, based on the greatest number of employees at any one time; 1 parking space for each 3 visitors |
Flex space/building | 1 stall per 350 square feet of gross floor space. |
Swimming pools | 1 parking space for each 4 swimmers/observers |
For each industrial use | 1 parking space for each 1.5 employees, plus 3 additional visitors parking spaces |
For every building hereafter erected containing more than 15,000 square feet in area and which is designed to be occupied by any use requiring regular receipt or dispatch of merchandise by truck, there shall be provided and maintained with adequate design to provide safe and efficient means of access and maneuvering | 1 loading space at least 30 feet in length and 12 feet in width, exclusive of access platforms and maneuvering areas, plus 1 parking space for each employee, based on the greatest number of employees at any one time |
