Idaho Code § 67-7302 — Definitions.

TITLE 67 STATE GOVERNMENT AND STATE AFFAIRS CHAPTER 73 IDAHO STATE COUNCIL FOR THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING 67-7302. Definitions. As used in this chapter: (1)  "Advocacy" means to act in the interests of the deaf and hard of hearing population. (2)  "Council" means the Idaho state council for the deaf and hard of hearing. (3)  "Deaf" means those in whom the sense of hearing is not functional for the ordinary purposes of life. "Deaf" includes several kinds of deafness: prelingually deaf, postlingually deaf and deafened as defined by the Gallaudet university study on hearing loss. (4)  "Hard of hearing" means those persons whose hearing is diminished to an extent that makes hearing difficult but does not preclude the understanding of spoken communication through the ear alone, with or without a hearing aid.
