Suspending Privileges Of Nonresidents And Reporting Convictions

TITLE 49 MOTOR VEHICLES CHAPTER 3 MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER’S LICENSES 49-323. Suspending privileges of nonresidents and reporting convictions. (1) The privilege of driving a motor vehicle on the highways given to a nonresident shall be subject to suspension, disqualification or revocation by the department in a like manner and for a like cause as a driver’s license issued to a resident may be suspended, disqualified or revoked. (2)  Upon receipt of a record of the conviction, suspension, disqualification or revocation in this state of a nonresident driver for any offense under the motor vehicle laws, the department shall forward a certified copy or electronic transfer of the record of the conviction, suspension, disqualification or revocation and its cause to the motor vehicle administrator in the state wherein the person so convicted is a resident and to the national driver register.
