Suspension For Nonpayment Of Judgments

TITLE 49 MOTOR VEHICLES CHAPTER 12 MOTOR VEHICLE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY 49-1204. Suspension for nonpayment of judgments. (1) Upon receipt of a certified copy of a judgment, the department shall suspend, except as provided in section 49-1207 , Idaho Code, the driver’s license or the nonresident’s driving privilege of any person against whom the judgment was rendered. (2)  If the judgment creditor consents in writing, in a form as the department may prescribe, that the judgment debtor be allowed a driver’s license or nonresident’s driving privilege, he may so be allowed by the department, in its discretion, for six (6) months from the date of consent and thereafter until consent is revoked in writing, notwithstanding default in the payment of the judgment, or of any installments prescribed in section 49-1207 , Idaho Code, provided the judgment debtor furnishes proof of financial responsibility.
