Idaho Code § 18-6718 — Opening Sealed Mail Or Packages.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 67 COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY 18-6718. Opening sealed mail or packages. (1) Every person who willfully opens or breaks the seal, or reads, or causes to be read, any sealed mail not addressed to such person without being authorized to do so either by the writer or by the person to whom it is addressed, and every person who, without the like authority, publishes any of the contents of such mail knowing the same to have been unlawfully opened, is guilty of a misdemeanor. (2)  For the purposes of this section, "mail" means any written communication or package that is designed to be carried by the United States postal service or any other federally regulated carrier of packages, parcels or letters.
