Idaho Code § 18-1357 — Compensating Public Servant For Assisting Private Interests In Relation To Matters Before Him.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 13 BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION 18-1357. Compensating public servant for assisting private interests in relation to matters before him. (1) Receiving compensation. A public servant commits a misdemeanor if he solicits, accepts or agrees to accept compensation for advice or other assistance in preparing or promoting a bill, contract, claim, or other transaction or proposal as to which he knows that he has or is likely to have an official discretion to exercise. (2)  Paying compensation. A person commits a misdemeanor if he pays or offers or agrees to pay compensation to a public servant with knowledge that acceptance by the public servant is unlawful.
