7-1B-4: MECHANICAL INSPECTOR:

   A.   Appointment, Term Of Office: The city council shall have the power to appoint a person qualified and experienced in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, to be mechanical inspector who shall hold such office at the discretion of the city council and whose duties shall be overseen by the building official.

   B.   Duties: It shall be the duty of the mechanical inspector to attend to the enforcement of the provisions of this article, as the same shall pertain to the inspection and supervision of mechanical systems. The mechanical inspector shall have the jurisdictional authority to inspect, and shall inspect, installations of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and related equipment within the city's limits, to give notice of mechanical violations, to issue or cancel mechanical permits, and to otherwise carry out the duties as mechanical inspector for the city.

   C.   Compensation: The compensation that the mechanical inspector shall receive for providing services shall be fixed by the city council and shall be paid in the same manner as other claims against the city. (Ord. 432, 2-18-2003)
