1-6B-1: DUTIES:

1-6B-1: DUTIES:
In addition to specific duties set forth in section 50-204, Idaho Code, and this code, it shall be the duty of the city attorney:
   A.   To prosecute and defend in all courts all actions on behalf of the city on account of official acts;
   B.   To take appeals or sue outright of error on behalf of the city or any office aforesaid, with the consent and approval of the mayor, and make the necessary bonds in the name of the city;
   C.   To advise the city council, or its committees, or any city officer, on such legal questions as may arise in relation to the business of the city;
   D.   To attend the meetings of the city council; and
   E.   Having personal knowledge of the violation of any city ordinance or upon receiving the reliable information of any such violation, to institute the necessary steps to pursue the matter criminally or civilly on behalf of the city. (Ord. 7; amd. 1985 Code)
