ATTORNEY-QUALIFICATIONS-DUTIES

SECTION 50. The city attorney shall have been a qualified elector of the city for at least one year before his appointment. He shall have been duly admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Idaho, and shall have been actually engaged in the practice of his profession for a period of at least three years before his appointment. It shall be his duty to promptly and carefully attend to all suits and other matters in which the city maybe legally interested; to give his advice and opinion, in writing, whenever required in writing, by the mayor, common council, any department or city officer. He shall be the legal adviser of all city officers; he shall draft or approve the form of all official or other bonds given to the city; and all contracts made with the city; he shall draft, whenever requested, by the mayor or common council or any member thereof, any proposed ordinance or resolution or order of the common council and shall do and perform all other things touching his office required of him by the mayor or common council.
