MAYOR-DUTIES

SECTION 49.6. The mayor shall vigilantly observe the conduct of all public officers and employees, and take notice of the degree of fidelity with which they execute their duties and obligations, especially in the collection, custody, administration and disbursement of the public funds and property. He shall take special care to see that all the books and records of Boise City departments, boards and officers, are kept in legal and proper form, and any defalcation or wilful neglect of duty, or any official misconduct which he may discover or which he may be cognizant of shall be laid by him before the common council and city attorney, in order that the public interest may be protected, and the person in default be proceeded against according to law. He shall see that the ordinances of Boise City are observed and enforced.
