ADVERTISING-HOW LET
SECTION 44. The council shall, on or after the first Monday in May each year, let the legal advertising of the city to a person, firm, copartnership or corporation publishing, for at least six (6) days each week, a newspaper of general circulation within the city of Boise, which makes the lowest and best bid therefor, and said bidder shall give a bond to the city, in such sum as may be fixed by the council, to well and faithfully perform the conditions of the contract. It shall be the duty of the council to designate a newspaper or the newspapers published by the bidder receiving such contract and giving such bond as the official newspaper or newspapers of the city. All the legal advertising of the city during the term of such contract shall be printed in one or more of such official newspapers. Whenever in this charter publication is required for any number of weeks it shall be sufficient to publish in one issue each week on the same day of the week. All ordinances adopted for the purpose of granting a franchise shall be printed with seven and one-half (7½) point type or larger.
