MARKET AND SLAUGHTER HOUSES FOOD-FUEL

SECTION 42(17). To provide for the establishment of market houses and places, and to regulate the location and management of market houses, hide houses and places; to prohibit and regulate the location and management of slaughter houses, hide houses, and other offensive places or factories within five miles of the city limits; and to provide a standard of weights and measures, and of food and fuel, and to prevent and prohibit the sale of unhealthful and unwholesome food; to regulate the disposition and destruction of foods; and to provide for the office of city weigher and measurer.
