MAGISTRATE-APPOINTMENT
MAGISTRATE-APPOINTMENT
SECTION 41. Immediately after the election and qualification of the mayor and the members of the council at each general election, the mayor, with the advice and consent of the council, shall appoint a city magistrate, who shall hold said office at the pleasure of the mayor, except as herein otherwise provided.

POWERS OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL
SECTION 42. In addition to the powers elsewhere in this charter granted, the mayor and common council shall have power as provided in the following sections numbered 42(1) to 42(55), inclusive:
