OFFICER NOT TO HAVE INTEREST IN CONTRACT
OFFICER NOT TO HAVE INTEREST IN CONTRACT
SECTION 31. Neither the mayor nor any member of the council shall hold any other office or employment, the compensation for which is paid out of city funds, except as herein provided; nor qualify for any office created while he was a member of the council, or mayor, within one year after ceasing to be such member or mayor; nor shall any officer or regular employee of the city be interested, directly or indirectly, in any contract with the city. Officers or employees of, or stockholders in franchise seeking or franchise holding corporations, or corporations contracting with the city, or employees of persons contracting with the city, (when members of the council, or members of any city board or commission) shall not while serving as members of the council or any city board or commission vote on questions of franchise or regulations affecting such corporation or on such contract.
