REGISTRATION BOOKS
SECTION 6-A(25). The registration books shall open on the 45th day before the first election and shall close at 9:00 o'clock, P.M., on the Saturday night next preceding the said first election, and shall remain closed, and no person shall be allowed to register until the Monday following the said first election, if a second election is to be held. Any qualified elector who has not properly registered for said first election may register for the said second election at any time while said books are open, as required by law, until 9:00 o'clock, P.M., on the Saturday night next preceding said second election at which time said registration books shall be closed, and no person, shall be permitted to register for said second election thereafter. After closing said registration books, the registrars shall prepare said books alphabetically, and the appointment, duties and compensation of the registrars shall be the same as provided by the general election laws of the state for state and county registration and election, except as herein otherwise provided.
No qualified elector who voted at either the last preceding primary or general municipal election for the election of officers shall be required to register so long as he remains or has remained continuously after either of such elections a duly qualified elector of Boise City in the precinct in which he voted, otherwise the clerk shall strike the name of such elector from the registration books and such elector, in order to vote must again register. Whenever an elector shall have died his name shall be stricken from the registration books, or if he shall remove from the municipality and remain away from the same for a period of one year his name shall be stricken from said books.
During the interim following any general election and the time the registration books are open preceding the next ensuing first election, any qualified elector may register personally before the city clerk in the same manner as though registering before the registrar of the precinct in which such elector resides.
In case of initiative, referendum, recall or a special election, the registration books shall be open in each precinct on the eleventh day preceding such election and shall close at 9:00 o'clock, P.M., on the third day preceding such election.
