PETITIONS-AMENDING
SECTION 6-A(6). When the nominating petition is presented to the city clerk he shall forthwith examine the same and ascertain whether it conforms to the provisions of this charter. If found not to conform thereto, he shall thereupon return it to the person who presented it with a statement, in writing, setting forth wherein the petition is found insufficient.
The petition may then be amended and again presented to the clerk within the time allowed by Section 6-A(5). The clerk shall forthwith proceed to examine the amended petition as hereinbefore provided for the original petition. The petition may be amended any number of times, provided that the last amended petition is presented within the time prescribed in Section 6-A(5).
