6-7-1: STOP SIGNS:
A. Stop Required: Except when directed to proceed by a police officer or traffic control signal, every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop intersection indicated by a stop sign shall stop:
1. At a clearly marked limit line, but if there is no limit line; then
2. Before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, but if there is no crosswalk; then
3. At the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering such roadway.
B. Yielding Right-Of-Way: After having stopped, the driver shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or which is approaching on another roadway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time when such driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways. (1952 Code § 10-09-04)
