9-13-53: IGCC GREEN CONSTRUCTION CODE AMENDMENT, SECTION 901.3.1.1 (9.3.1.1), CONSTRUCTION WASTE MATERIAL DIVERSION:
   901.3.1.1 (9.3.1.1) Construction Waste Material Diversion. A minimum of 35% of nonhazardous construction and demolition waste material generated prior to the issuance of the final certificate of occupancy shall be diverted from disposal in landfills and incinerators as waste, for reuse, recycling, repurposing, and/or composting. Excavated soil and land clearing debris shall not be included in this waste diversion calculation. Alternative daily cover and waste-to-energy incineration shall not be included as diverted material. All diversion calculations shall be based on either weight or volume, but not both, throughout the construction process. Reports, receipts, or other documentation related to diversion shall be maintained through the course of construction, and when requested by the code official, evidence of such diversion shall be provided.
