3-3-2: PURPOSE:

3-3-2: PURPOSE:
The City finds that public health, safety and welfare require that certain occupations and businesses within the City be regulated without restraining, burdening or over regulating the businesses or occupations. The buying and selling of alcohol is an industry that requires astute ownership in order to maintain compliance with all of the laws and regulations designed to protect society. The licensing process is one step in assisting in compliance with those laws. However, the issuance of a license pursuant to this chapter does not constitute a representation or an affirmance to any person who transacts business with a person that said licensee is free from risk. The City shall not be liable for, nor shall a cause of action exist for, any loss or damage based upon the failure of any person licensed under this chapter to meet the standards contained herein.
