9-5-7: EXISTING INSTALLATIONS:
Except when dangerous or as otherwise provided for in this Chapter, this code shall not require the removal, alteration or abandonment of, nor prevent the continued utilization and maintenance of, an electrical system or equipment lawfully in existence at the time of the adoption of this code.
Exception: When altering pre-existing electrical wiring, equipment, apparatus or fixtures, and/or adding new wiring, the existing electrical wiring method connected to the new or altered installation, shall be in accordance with the most current code adopted. (Ord. 43-20, 12-1-2020, eff. 1-1-2021)
