8-6-1: PURPOSE AND APPLICABILITY:
A. Purpose: This Chapter establishes rules for procedures, including pre-application meetings, neighborhood meetings, public notice, and public hearings. In addition, it describes the process for specific applications. The procedures have a common workflow and description, as identified in Table 8-6-1-1.
B. Applicability: This Chapter applies to any application for development approval ("applications") in the County.
Element | What this Means |
Applicability | The type of development or situation that is subject to the process. |
Initiation | This is how the application process begins, including which department or official receives the application. |
Completeness | This is how Ada County determines that the application has sufficient information to be processed. |
Notice | This describes the type of notice, and how it is provided. |
Decision | This states who approves the application, and the type of proceeding that leads to the decision. |
Required Findings | These are any specific findings of fact that pertain to the approval of an application. |
Appeals | This provides a way to review an application that is approved, denied, or that have conditions with which the applicant, owner, or an affected person disagree. |
Scope of Approval | This indicates what activity the application authorizes. For example, some approvals send the application to the next step in the overall process, while others authorize construction or use. |
