8-4-4: AIRPORT/AIRCRAFT LANDING FIELD (PRIVATE):

   A.   Applicability:

      1.   Subsections B, C1, D, E, F and G apply to any aircraft landing field (private).

      2.   Subsections B, C2, D, E, F, and G apply to airports.

   B.   FAA Approval: Prior to application, the applicant or owner shall receive airspace approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

   C.   Design:

      1.   The runway design for an aircraft landing field (private) shall comply with the design and construction standards and recommendations in the Federal Aviation Administration handbook entitled "Airport Design," Advisory Circular 150/5300-13.

      2.   A proposed airport shall meet the design standards of the Federal Aviation Administration for the particular class or field.

   D.   Verification Of Regulatory Compliance: If applicable, verification of compliance with the regulations and requirements of the following agencies shall be provided:

      1.   Federal Aviation Administration.

      2.   Idaho Transportation Department (Bureau of Aeronautics).

      3.   Idaho Military Division-National Guard.

      4.   The City of Boise Airport Commission.

   E.   Accessory Uses: An airport master site plan shall include any accessory uses such as fuel storage areas, structures, or facilities for storing and maintenance of aircraft, and any outdoor storage or tie down areas.

   F.   Fuel Tanks: As applicable, written approval for fuel tanks from the Idaho Division of Environmental Quality, Idaho Department of Water Resources, and the appropriate fire authority shall be provided.

   G.   Prohibited Areas: Aircraft landing fields are prohibited in:

      1.   The Snake River Birds of Prey natural area and canyon preservation as noted on the Ada County comprehensive plan generalized future land use map; or

      2.   The Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area.
